If your family is in need of a Christmas basket, call the
Information and Referral Centre of Greater Montreal at 514-527-1375. |
Founded 1919 and under the management of the Volunteer Bureau since 1969, the Christmas Index works with Greater Montreal area community organizations which distribute Christmas baskets, cheques, or food vouchers to those in need during the Holiday period.
From the end of October to mid-December, organizations send us lists of those who have registered to receive such help. These lists are processed through a centralized database to check for duplications and incomplete registrations. By providing a report of duplicated registrations, we help each organization make the most of its resources, thereby making a difference to a greater number of families. About 250 organizations in the Greater Montreal area use the service, submitting an average of 42 000 names annually.
To contact the Index, call 514.842.3351 or email by clicking here - please remember that we are only open from the end of October to mid-December. We would appreciate it if you didn't post our email address on your web site.
