Notice COVID-19 | 16 March 2020

The Volunteer Bureau of Montreal has implemented measures to minimize the health risks related to the coronavirus for its volunteers, employees, and visitors.

As of Monday, March 16, 2020, operations will be carried out by our employees using telecommuting technology. All phone messages will be returned, and all requests received on the VBM website will be processed. Our training sessions have been postponed to later dates. We would like to remind you that the work of volunteers with our members must comply with the directives of the member organizations and the meals-on-wheels services in each neighborhood.

For this reason, it is not possible for us to provide an accurate list of groups that are still operational; many of them are meeting with their boards of directors this week to make their decisions. We suggest you contact the organization and your meals-on-wheels service. Our meals-on-wheels organizations have agreed to notify their clients of any changes and refer them to social workers for any emergencies, since CLSCs have remained open. We recommend that you refer all cases of food insecurity to the local CLSC. We will cooperate with government authorities to find solutions in order to serve our clients.

If you have any questions that require an answer urgently, do not hesitate to contact us at direction [at] cabm [dot] net or at 514-872-3351, ext. 229.

We will keep you informed of the situation as it evolves.
