Nexos Voluntarios
Volunters needed for various activities required to support projects in the fields of public health, environmental conservation, business and development, human rights, community development, and education. If volunteering individually, volunteers must speak at least an intermediate level of Spanish and stay for a minimum of six weeks. For groups of volunteers, groups of different sizes are welcome and programs are available for stays of one week to a month. Volunteers from a wide array of academic backgrounds are needed.
AFS Interculture Canada
The description of this request is only available in French. | Familles bénévoles recherchées souhaitant accueillir sous leur toit un jeune d'un autre pays, venu au Canada pour apprendre une autre langue en immersion et vivre une expérience interculturelle unique. Le jeune est âgé entre 15 et 18 ans et provient d'un des 30 pays partenaires. Il ira à l’école du quartier et vivra en tant que membre de la famille à part entière. La famille d'accueil s'engage à fournir un gîte sécuritaire ainsi que la nourriture quotidienne au jeune qu'elle héberge. Elle le supporte toute la durée de son séjour (11 mois; août à juillet), dans son intégration à sa nouvelle culture et dans son apprentissage du français. Pour sa part, l'organisme s'engage envers la famille à offrir un encadrement, tel que des activités de rassemblement et les services d'un conseiller bénévole qui prendra contact régulier avec la famille.
