Volunteer Bureau launches major ad campaign

In April 2007, as part of its 70th anniversary celebrations, the VBM is launching its biggest ever advertising campaign

The year-round campaign, starting strong in April, presents volunteerism as a way for people to live their dreams. It will include television and radio announcements, newpaper and magazine ads and Web banners, as well as messages on the Montreal Metro's electronic bulletin boards.

The ads will direct people to the Bureau's all-new Web site, also being launched in April, where surfers will discover a search engine allowing them to choose their own volunteer activity with a few clicks of the mouse.

For a community organization like ours, carrying out a campaign on this scale - with a market value of about $200,000 - on a budget of less than $3,000 required a lot of help!

Major partners from the private sector include Quebecor, through its philanthropic activities program, and Google, via Google Grants. Additional help came from Alstom Télécité, Pattison, the Grenier aux nouvelles and the City of Montreal .

The campaign would never have become a reality without the work of a dedicated team of volunteers - composed for the most part of professionals in the field of communications - who devoted countless hours of their time to mount a campaign which will, we hope, succeed in presenting volunteerism in a new light to thousands of Montrealers - and convince them to give it a try!
