CAEO Québec / Canadian Association for Education and Outreach

Volunteers needed who are a part of or allied with the English-speaking LGBTQ community to join a team of volunteers for community programs including Gay Line, a free listening service, Gay Online, a web extension of Gay Line, and SILK (Sexual Information Leads to Knowledge) workshops. All volunteers are required to fulfill two shifts/workshops per month from their program of choice and must attend the Annual General Meeting in September along with their fellow volunteers. All volunteers receive a comprehensive initial training course for all three community programs, and are also offered ongoing and continuous training and coaching. Members of traditionally underrepresented groups are encouraged to volunteer.

Volunteer needed to take on the position of president of the organisation (see www.caeoquebec.org for more information). The president's duties are to fulfill the aims of the organization, manage the daily activities and members of the executive committee and program directors, prepare and chair the agenda for all general meetings, act as official spokesperson for the organization, promote its visibility through presentations, press releases and establishing networks, whenever possible, within the LGBTQ community as well as at non-LGBTQ events, delegate the official representation of the organization to other organizations, chair executive committee meetings, establish lucrative business relations and raise all necessary funds to run the organization and its programs in conjunction with the PR & Marketing Director through various fundraising activities, be accountable to the volunteers, present a yearly summary of achievements of the previous year and an action plan outlining its goals for the upcoming year at the AGM in September. This is a volunteer position until enough funding is secured to begin having paid positions.
