Katimavik offers youth between the ages of 17 and 21 an exciting six-to-nine-month journey of self-discovery in two or three different Canadian regions. The program is based on the concept of voluntary service learning, which promotes the personal, professional and social development of young Canadians through volunteer work and group living.

To better prepare you to help the young people and their parents in your group to discover Katimavik, here is an important update on the program:

Nine-month program - September 2010 departure

Six-month program - January 2011 and July 2011 departure

NEW! QUEBEC PARTICIPANTS CAN OBTAIN COLLEGE CREDITS!

In keeping with the Katimavik program's mission to provide participants with a unique informal learning experience, Cégep Marie-Victorin is now offering volunteers from Quebec the opportunity to take officially recognized college-level courses during the program. All courses offered are recognized by the Quebec Minister of Education, Recreation and Sports, and participants will be given a Humanities and Social Sciences credit in the Quebec college network.

SPACE IS STILL AVAILABLE FOR THE MARCH 2010 DEPARTURE

Looking for a stimulating project for the next six months? Space is still available for the Cultural Discovery and Civic Engagement program (including a stay in Northern Canada), as well as the Eco-Citizenship and Active Living program, which start in March 2010.
