A volunteer-based service

Meals-on-Wheels depends on volunteers who want to be involved in their community.

Over 2000 volunteers participate in Montreal-area Meals-on-Wheels groups, offering an invaluable service to thousands of their fellow citizens.

An executive committee composed of a president, a vice-president, a secretary, a treasurer and a liaison officer makes sure the group functions smoothly.

 

Do you have a few hours to give?

There are many ways to volunteer with Meals-on-Wheels : group leaders, cooks, kitchen helpers, drivers, delivery people and administrative and clerical help are always needed.  The volunteer decides how much time she or he will give: some people like a once-a-week activity, others prefer a less frequent commitment.

 

Volunteer requests:

  • Do you like cooking and helping people? Would you like to make new friends while helping a good cause? A Meals-on-Wheels group in Hampstead/Snowdon needs volunteers to cook and deliver meals to shut-ins. You would be needed for about three hours, once a week on Tuesday or Thursday mornings.
