Past experiences
Last October, 50 employees of SAP Montreal lent a hand to Montreal Harvest, Canada’s biggest food bank. From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., small working groups did a clean-up of the kitchen and of the space reserved for the organization’s regular volunteers, and also processed more than 12,500 kilos of food!
“We were thrilled with the visit of a group of volunteers from SAP Canada on October 25. Of the fifty volunteers who took part, half worked on cleaning up our kitchen and storage lockers and the special area set aside for our regular volunteers. The other half were assigned to our daily food-processing operations. Our regular volunteers were very pleased to see how much nicer their space looked thanks to the work of the SAP volunteers. We were delighted with the help we got from SAP and hope to organize another activity like this in the future.”
“As part of its F.O.R.C.E. program encouraging community involvement, the Hotel Hyatt Regency Montreal’s management team had the chance to experience some very enriching volunteer work with organizations involved in different sectors of activity. Helping them to carry out their missions gave us a better understanding of the importance of what they do. We felt that our contribution, small as it was, had a positive impact on the well-being of our society. The experience was definitely a very satisfying one for our volunteers, since it gave them a chance to make a difference in their community.”
