Recruitment and referral of volunteers
Our recruitment service is available to any duly incorporated non-profit organization.
| We do not have a bank of volunteers, so please plan your needs in advance in order to give us enough time to recruit the volunteers you need. This makes our job easier and improves your chances of finding the ideal candidate! |
Organizations using the service for the first time are requested to furnish proof of incorporation and to print, fill out and send in the following form: Information on recruiting organizations.
To recruit individual volunteers, please print, fill out and send in the Request form.
If you have activities for groups of volunteers, please print, fill out and send in the Group request form.
If you've already recruited with us, only one or the other of the request forms is required.
Please be precise in filling out your request forms. Give us details about the volunteer's tasks, hours, days, language requirements, etc.
Please also mail us copies of your fliers or other information. The more we know about your organization, the easier it is for us to find you the right volunteer.
We hope it will soon be possible to fill out these forms on line.
Please note:
We do not recruit volunteers for individuals nor for political or religious activities.
Organizations recruiting volunteers must have a business office: we do not refer volunteers to private addresses.
Our counselors
Recruiting organizations: We have active requests for volunteers from over 700 community organizations. The clienteles or causes for which demand is heaviest include children and adolescents, seniors, hospitals, women's groups and the handicapped. Activities proposed include direct services to individuals, office work, accompaniment/transportation and organizing activities or special events.
Press releases: The media, particularly the print media, are one of our best sources of recruitment. Our press releases go out every week in English and French to the major dailies, a number of weeklies and to TV and radio stations. Our announcements also appear on the electronic bulletin boards in the Montreal Metro.
Follow-up: Please let us know when you accept one of the volunteers we refer or when a request is no longer active.
Give us a call at 514.842.3351 if you need further information. To find out more about some of our other services to community organizations, visit the Training workshops and Volunteer Fairs sections of our Web site.
