The VBM's Annual General Meeting this year was part of a special activity celebrating the Bureau's 70th anniversary. Thanks to the generous collaboration of Marilyn Lajeunesse, in charge of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts's Educational Programs, over fifty guests took part in a guided visit to the Emily Carr exhibit which opened the same day.

After the visit, the Annual Meeting was held in the beautiful Members' Lounge of the Museum. André Guérard, outgoing President of the Board of Directors, expressed his appreciation of the work carried out by the Bureau's volunteers and staff, making special note of the two special honours received this year, Centraide's Agnes C. Higgins prize and the Quebec Government's Action bénévolat-Québec award.

Executive Director Kevin Cohalan summarized the Bureau's achievements over the past year. Special guest Michèle Thibodeau-DeGuire, President and Executive Director of Centraide of Greater Montreal, spoke with her usual eloquence of the long and profitable collaboration between the two organizations.

Julie Beauvilliers, Kim Kurtz, Lise Pettigrew and Laura Salama were elected to the Board of Directors, joining the members whose mandates continue, André Guérard, Yolande Mafalanka, Jean David Tremblay-Frenette and Lorraine Torpy.
