Are you passionate about the idea of being part of an international movement that brings change? Are you interested in global health and international development issues? Do you want to expand your communication and advocacy skills? Results is for you! We are looking for motivated people with a strong sense of initiative who want to join an existing group of volunteers in Montreal or who want to create their own group in their community or neighbourhood. The goal of the group is to have a support system so that you can together take action! You can also join a growing online community! This community includes people from all over the country who like you, are passionate about a world free of extreme poverty! Once the group is formed, the volunteers are invited to virtually get together (for the time being) once a month to discuss the current campaign and the suggested actions. The actions vary but as an example can be: to write to your Member of Parliament to get them to act on your behalf, write letters to the editor to be published in newspapers, raise awareness about our issues on social media, participate in fundraising activities and many others. All of these actions are to generate the political will (advocacy) at the federal government level so that they prioritise programs that will help alleviate extreme poverty in countries of the Global South.
