Recruiting Students (Marketing, Communication, Social Media, Office Administration, Project Management, Research and Analysis). Bilingual students are needed with experience and/or training in marketing/communication, office administration, social media, project management, research and analysis. This is a volunteer opportunity to gain experience in your field of study. You would be assisting the Coordinator of Volunteer Services in volunteer recruitment, training, supervision, retention, and evaluation of programs and services. The coordinator is open to working with a team of students with various backgrounds and skills. This is an opportunity for an exchange of ideas, exchange of skills, meeting new people, implementation of projects, and learning about volunteering. Bring your best skills to volunteer management!   • A unilingual Farsi speaking 82 year old gentleman is in need of a volunteer to reduce his social isolation. He lives on Cavendish Boulevard near Sherbrooke Avenue. He also needs someone to occasionally accompany him to medical appointments to assist with translations from Farsi to English or French. His daughter is his main caregiver but she is having work issues due to the medical accompaniments for her father. The volunteer will travel with or without the client (depending on client’s health) to the store, purchase items, and return them to the client’s home. If you speak other languages besides English and/or French, please let me know if you would be interested in offering some home visits. The languages sought are: Italian, Romanian, Russian, Yiddish, Polish, Greek, Ukrainian, Farsi, Spanish, Sri Lankan, German, Estonian, Croatian, Hebrew and Hungarian. A driver is needed for the short 5 minute distance to the grocery store due to her limited mobility. Over time, Mrs. E.V. has become distrustful of others leading to her dissatisfaction and refusal to receive much needed services. It will take someone with patience and understanding who would be a good communicator, approach her gently to build a trusting relationship over time and with an ability to reassure her and make her feel secure.
