Organisation:
Shelter Movers
Shelter Movers is a national, volunteer-powered charitable organization that provides moving and storage services at no cost to women and children experiencing abuse. We collaborate with local businesses and community agencies in Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver and Halifax to help families transition with their belongings to a life free of abuse. We are hoping to expand to provide services to the Montreal area.
Shelter Movers is a volunteer-based organization that provides moving and storage services at no cost to women and children experiencing abuse. We are in the process of opening a chapter in the Montreal region and are in need of movers/drivers. Volunteer Movers are the core of the organization by assisting in each of the three types of moves: Urgent Exit, Escorted Move, and Resettlement Move. In a group of 2-4 movers, volunteers will load/unload client's belongings into cargo van and transport client to predetermined location. Movers who have a valid driver’s license are welcome to register as drivers. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to make a big impact in a small amount of time. Each move is only 2-4 hours.
