Volunteers will plan and coordinate the club's program activities for 12-week sessions in the Fall and Spring, as well as animate the activities along with a hard-of-hearing volunteer, and will perform an evaluation of each session with the members.   • La description de cette demande est disponible uniquement en anglais. | A patient, friendly and reliable volunteer is needed to be a part-time note-taker/transcriber for persons who are hard of hearing, during the organization's speechreading (lipreading) classes and book club meetings. The speachreading classes take place on Thursday mornings, from 10 a.m. to noon, at 7000 Sherbrooke Street West, and on Friday afternoons from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at CHSLD Bayview, 27 Lakeshore Road in Pointe-Claire. The book club takes place from 10 a.m. to noon at 7000 Sherbrooke West, every other Monday, starting September 19. The note-taker will be taught how to take notes for people with hearing loss in order to improve their ability to understand, participate in, and enjoy group discussions. Notes can be taken by hand or with a computer. The note-taker will also have the opportunity to see how speechreading is taught and may learn useful skills.
