The VBM has a new look

We put you at the center.
We take action together.

The new slogans of the Volunteer Bureau of Montreal embody a tone that is both personal and collective, reinforced by the use of the word "we". These slogans engage both volunteers and non-profit organizations (NPOs) in the greater metropolitan area.

“We are proud to present our new visual identity which embodies the unifying mission of the organization. The VBM creates an important link between volunteers looking to get involved and NPOs who need support. Our visuals aim to highlight these key elements: compassionate people taking action together to improve their community.” underlines Eve-Isabelle Chevrier, Executive Director.

Our approach

With a history of more than 85 years of volunteer engagement, the Volunteer Bureau of Montreal has generated many captivating stories. Our team took a trip through time and immersed itself in the VBM’s rich past, going as far back as revisiting the very first logos, dating from the 1930s!

Discover the fascinating evolution of our logos in this short video:

In our quest for a new coherent image for the VBM, we worked closely with various stakeholders in the sector, in particular those who are at the very heart of our mission: the volunteers.

We engaged in discussions with volunteers, seeking to understand what the VBM meant to them, as well as the importance of volunteering in their lives.

The words that emerged most often were clear and powerful: humanity, kindness, team spirit, and solidarity. Guided by these values, we have created a distinctive logo that incorporates all the essential roles of a volunteer center.

"After more than 85 years of history, here we are with a brand new logo! It’s always a challenge to express the soul and mission of the VBM, but once again, the result is successful. Congratulations to all the people who were involved in the project!"

- Ugo Dionne, Chairman of the Board of Directors

The new VBM logo embodies unity, compassion, and solidarity. It is illustrated by three interconnected hearts which also represent interconnected people at the heart of the VBM, NPOs and volunteers, collaborating together.

It promotes the creation of strong bonds and commitment that contribute to improving the life of each person while building a more just and inclusive world.

“We chose bright and warm colors to demonstrate the leadership and unifying influence of the Volunteer Bureau of Montreal. We want people who discover us to be immediately engaged by volunteering and its fun and accessible side!”

- Laurence Bolduc, communications coordinator

Our color, our identity

The Volunteer Bureau of Montreal embodies the fundamental values of volunteer engagement, based on four main pillars:

First, we support people in their volunteer journey, by guiding them and helping them find the opportunities that correspond to their interests and skills.

Our approach is rewarding. It strives to ignite the desire to get involved in something bigger than yourself. We value diverse individual and collective expertise, to foster a strong sense of belonging.

As a unifying organization, the VBM unites people of all ages and from all walks of life. It promotes the creation of strong bonds and commitment that contribute to improving the life of each individual while building a more just and inclusive society.

Finally, we are deeply committed to our mission to strengthen the social fabric and to meet the needs of the community by mobilizing volunteers and community organizations. We are constantly striving to find innovative solutions adapted to meet current challenges. We make a real difference through our network of partnerships, offering support and training to organizations to support charitable causes.

These four pillars are at the heart of the Volunteer Bureau of Montreal.

We can make a difference.

Together, we have the power to create a positive impact in our community through volunteering.
